Everyone always say, just exercise and eat healthy.
When you have a bad habit, its not as easy as they think. Sure, its easy for them, because they are in the habit and its a normal thing to do 100 crunches and push ups a day, then take a 2 mile jog.
As someone who was obese for much of how school and now has gotten so physically strong and athletic that I can start Boxing training, I tell you ITS NOT EASY TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT when you're obese.
The hard part is that when you are obese its so hard to start trying to do basic exercises such as simple pushups and jog because the weight and unhealthy state of your body make you get tired so quickly.Hell reach a certain level of obesity and it;ll be impossible to even do basic stuff like pushups and jogging as your arms and legs are too short to even get up and move around with ease once you reach like 500 pounds!
Worse yet is the habbit of trying to take away food eaten.When you start trying to limit your diet you start feeling hunger as your body is so used to eating so much.It can hurt so much that you feel you have no choice but to eat as you usually do.Also all the fatigue that may come when you diet is another thing that makes weight loss so hard.
The hardest part that fit and athletic people don't understand is self esteem.When you're obese,not only is it hard to do basic stuff, you often are made fun of by others and its very hard to get someone as a girlfriend/boyfriend.I can say obesity was a huge reason why I never got a girlfriend in Highschool. Along with the bullying you face,its so mentally insulting to be obese especially in High School.
The worst part is when you look at the mirror and see how ugly you are.Basically what fit people fail to understand is self esteem problems.Its almost impossible to have the so called "self control" skinny people and athletic people criticize us obese people as lacking when you look into the mirror and can't get any self confidence at what you see. Add to the already mentioned problems such as physical handicap,being targetted for bullying because of appearance, and last but not least,being unable to ger a GF or BF, and your self esteem often sinks down to almost 0 when you're obese especially when you're an immature guy in High School.
Why do fit people generally think losing weight is easy?Us folks who were obese for a long time or even much of my life(I'm one who was obese until out of highschool) who are now skinny and even athletic beasts can tell you its a Hell especially with lack of Self Esteem and that its probably the hardest things we ever did in our lives!
So some advice, next time you see a person failing to follow a diet or unable to lose weight, put yourself in their shoes and think of what they are going through before critcizing them as being "Lazy,Undisiciplined, and/or lacking self control"!If you ever became obese you would understand!

Weight loss for 15 year old males?
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone had any tip for losing fat in mid-puberty for males. About a month ago I weighed about 255 at 5'11'', now I'm down to 240, but it has plateaued and I haven't been making any progress recently even with a 1,500 calorie diet and exercise about 2 times a week. I say it hasn't made any progress, but that it with my weight becoming lower. Could it be because I am gaining muscle at the same rate of losing fat? Or is my metabolism ruined from such low calorie diets? This week I have stayed at 240, but my bench, and squat weight went up, and my half mile time also improved, (half mile because my severe patellar tendonitis disables me from running long distances.) So I am thinking that It might be healthier to keep doing what I am doing, because the main objective was to lose fat in the first place. Anyway, one last question. With my workout habits and daily caloric intake, do you think in the long run this will improve my health or will the low caloric diets put my body into starvation. Please leave your feedback as it would be much appreciated, just trying to lose some weight here.

battling Lupus for 17 years cerebral palsy for 29 years?
ive had my ups and downs with this illness i remember being diagnosed with it when i was 12 and not knowing what it was the hair falling out the swelling and extreme pain in all my joints the rashes on my entire body weight loss and feeling fatigue all the time i was wondering what the hell was going on then the doc finally gave me a diagnosis then all this medication, now on top of all of this i was also born with a condition called spastic quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy which means i have to use a wheelchair to get around ive been through alot 29 years of my life but ive overcome it i live independently work and working on a degree in teaching even though im shy i love to have fun just like any "normal" person im starting to think about my future i would love to get married and raise a family every time i would dream i would always be the perfect wife with an amazing husband 2 beautiful children a house with a picket fence and a dog it sounds too good to be true .and the only thing is im afraid i wont be able to find someone to accept me for me i mean to accept all of my flaws and my baggage im really afraid i'll end up alone, im almost 30 and because of my health issues i feel like time is running out especially when it comes to me having children
