Running is one of the best ways to burn calories and a person can burn up to 275 calories per mile. This can add up to up to over 1000 calories burned per hour! Therefore, running to lose weight can be a great way to get back in shape. As a matter of fact, running burns more calories than any other exercise except for cross country skiing.

Not only does running work fabulously for weight loss, it also has many health benefits as well. Healthy foods please? Breakfast, lunch, and dinner....?
Name as many healthy things as you can for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and snacks) for people trying to lose weight (quickly, if possible). I'm trying to lose 35 lbs in about 2-3 months and am not really all that educated in healthy eating. I crack when junk food comes my way...Help?

How long will it take me to lose 16 pounds?
Hello. I used to weigh 105 pounds when I was 15. For the past four years I've been between 115-130, and i've had enough. The way I got to 105 pounds was by counting calories (and I did not look sickly; I have a small frame so it was proportioned fine). For the past month I've been doing fad diets and lose weight quickly, then cheat one day and I'm where I started. Yesterday was the first time I cheated; I was 120 when I woke up, ate two eggs, then went out and ate pizza, ice cream, came home and had chocolate and cake. Now I am 126. Since it would be insanely unlikely to gain six pounds in one day I presume it's mostly water and tomorrow, if I behave I'll be around 122 or so (correct me if I'm wrong). So this brings me to my point: How long will it take me to get to 110 pounds if I eat 1,000 calories a day? I know this is safe for me because I have done it in the past without any ill effects. I had a spreadsheet but I lost it so I don't know how long it took me to lose that much weight. So, again, I want to be 110. Right now I'm 126, how long am I looking at if I eat 1,000 calories per day? No exercise! I will exercise, but I do not count that as any calorie burning because I do it for my health, not weight loss. Oh, I'm 5'4 and mostly sedentary. I'd guess my BMR is on a low end, maybe 1500-1700. Sucks! :P
