doing a gluten free diet?
I recently found out that I had celiacs disease about a month ago. I actually had to have a little over half of my stomach and a very damaged part of my intestines removed. Now I'm having a little bit of trouble coping. The doctor wants me to do a 7 day cleansing period to remove any remaining traces of gluten from my system. My problem is this: He never really gave me any tips for how to do this. I believe that he though that because the damage to my system was so severe that I had to have already known that I had celiacs but I didn't and I have no clue what to do as far as trying to cleanse my system. It is also really difficult because my family thinks the whole gluten thing is a joke and that it doesn't harm anything and they just constantly bombard me with heavy gluten contaminated food. please help. thank you.

SEVERE itch relief? Please help!!?
I'm 14 and have had severe eczema and all of the miserable symptoms that accompany it since I was an infant. Even then, I was given ADULT doses of Hydroxizine and Adderax. The severity of it occasionally (mercifully) lessens, but at the moment, it is flared up, and to be quite frank, it itches like a motherf*cker. To give you just an idea of what it's like, imagine an itch so severe, that you are unable to sleep, and the more time that passes, the more intense the itching becomes. You grit your teeth, bite your pillow, toss and turn, DESPERATE for the slightest relief. You eventually become exasperated, and start tearing up, because you're so exhausted and fed up. You soon give in, and savagely tear at your skin with your nails, not even stopping when it begins to bleed, and your nails and hands are covered in blood. Frustrated, you finally try to sleep, but the pain catches up with you, overwhelming you. And then the itching returns.
Congratulations, you are 1% closer to understanding how much I suffer nightly. I have tried nearly EVERYTHING. Prednisone, steroid creams, oils, moisturizer, anti itch lotion, cold compresses, drinking more water, gluten free diets, wheat free diets, bleach baths.
Please, I'm begging you; If you have ANY home remedies that work for you, suggest them to me!!!
Doesn't accutane CAUSE eczema? And my dermatologist and regular physician are also clueless about what to do, because nothing seems to work, or at least work for long.

Soooo sick for MONTHS. lactose intolerant? please help!?
I've been sick for months. I've seen about 5 diff types of doctors & no one can figure out what's going on. A lot of doctors seem to blame anxiety, which could play a part, but I know my body well enough to know that that's not all it is. I am extremely fatigued which lead to the loss of my job. I have nausea, dizzyness, diarehia (constant, sometimes up to 10 times a day) & a lot of the times I will run a low grade fever (between 99-99.9) I've seen a GI doctor, he did an endoscopy, lower & upper x-ray & all he found was a little inflammation. I've been tested for lupus, anemia, vitamin b12, thyroid problems... I decided to go see a nutritionist last friday & she said it sounds like a celiac/gluten allergy. My GI doctor said there was no evidence in the endoscopy of celiac intolerance. I've been on a gluten-free diet for about 5-6 days & still have the stomach problems. Yesterday I was tired of being gluten free & didn't see the point of staying away from it anymore if I'm still getting sick. Surprisingly, I wasn't sick AT ALL. I didn't consume any dairy, which is extremely rare, dairy is probably the main food group I consume. Today I felt OK until I ate some cheese & yogurt & almost immediatly all of the symptoms came back. could this be lactose intolerance that nobody has diagnosed or thought to look into???
