Need Some Encouragement on my Weight Loss Maintenance! Please!?
Hi!
Since the beginning of May 2011, I've lost 100 pounds. From June 1 to November 24, I was on Optifast, a VLCD (very low calorie diet) and lost 90 of those pounds. I have successfully maintained my weight since then, but have been struggling to lose the last 30-40 pounds that I would like to lose.
I am currently 214 and want to weigh between 170-180. I work out 3-5 times a week, twice with a group (one is extremely high intensity) and I run 3+ miles 1-2 days a week usually, but haven't really been able to motivate myself to go to the gym and do so for the past few weeks. I just feel like I'm in a funk...
I am also a full time student and work 30+ hours a week. I told myself I wouldn't use my school work as an excuse, but I am starting to fall back into that habit.
Also, I used to usually eat around 1200-1500 calories a day, but have recently probably jumped up to 1800 for no good reason. I'm a late night snacker, and I can feel bad habits starting to creep back in.
I eat mostly fresh foods, and only eat graham crackers (1 serving a day), sandwich thins (1 a day for lunch), oatmeal (weight control, 1 every morning), and have some trail mix and/or pretzel thin crackers sometimes outside of fresh fruits, vegetables, and chicken.
Starting tomorrow, I am cutting down to only my oatmeal in the morning, except for a turkey/egg sandwich with a sandwich thin on the weekends after i work out
i DO have the option to go back up to 3 optifast shakes a day and totally cut out carbs, but that would cost me about 54 dollars a week. I'm sure I'd lose the weight this way, but I'm nervous about going back down to around 1000 calories because of the moderate hair loss that occurred after I finished the diet... it is just now barely getting under control.
Can anyone help me, or motivate me, or SOMETHING?!
Like I said, I haven't gained any weight, more or less 1 pound, but I just can't seem to get motivated to lose the rest. I can tell that my body just wants a break, but I'm scared to give it that break and have the possibility of gaining the weight back.
