What is a Cleansing Diet?

I have recently begun to take a huge interest in my health, especially weight loss and exercise. You cannot research healthy living and weight management, without coming across the cleansing diet. That has been my latest research on becoming healthy. I have been wondering what exactly a cleansing diet is and how it can benefit me.

From the sounds of it, my first though was that it would be a laxative or a diet that would have the same results, but that is not what I found when I looked further into this program. These diets and programs are very popular right now, so needless to say, there is a lot of information and marketing online pertaining to products that cleanse and flush. What I came across sounds quite natural and very healthy. It appears to be a program that anyone could benefit from and it can be used as a permanent food plan or as a short term cleansing program that can be used periodically as you feel you need it.

Simply put, you will have to stop consuming foods that are considered toxins for a period of time and then you will have to flush the existing toxins from your system. During this time your diet will consists mostly of whole grains, vegetables (preferably organic), fruits (once again, preferably organic), pasta, rice, beans, and herbs. Organic fruits and vegetables will not have the pesticides that non organic foods may have. Be sure and rinse all fruits and vegetable well before preparing. Soy products are a great source of protein, since the cleansing diet has no animal products.

The length of time it is necessary follow this plan varies depending what resource you are getting your information from. Even a few days will benefit you, but many plans suggest 7-21 days. It can be done and due to the popularity of the cleansing diet, it is easy to find many tasty recipes that will fit into this plan.

The second part of this diet is the flush part of the program. Water makes the best flush and you should try to drink about a gallon a day during this time. Natural herbal teas and juices are also a good option along with lemonade with no sugar added. It is important to avoid sodas, coffee, and teas that contain caffeine. Exercise also helps eliminate toxins through sweat.

The cleansing diet is something I would like to try. I guess the only thing that is stopping me is fear of failure. Even though, I have been having success losing weight, I like my lean animal protein and my dairy products. Over time I have made changes for my health and I feel the cleansing diet will also be something that I will do for its health benefits.

Lipton Green Tea Caffeine?
before I go to bed, I like to have a Juice or tea by my side to drink through the night and I been drinking Lipton Green tea with Citrus for a few nights now, I didn't know there were Caffeine in it, 11 Mgs. per cup and I drink the whole 8 servings so that would make it 88 but It doesn't keep me awake! so I'm confused I sleep just fine, is this possible?

Uncle Lee Tea caffeine content?
I started to drink Uncle Lee's Legends of China Green Tea, but I threw out the box. I would love to be able to look at the nutrition square on the side (serving size, calories, caffeine, etc.). Could someone provide a picture of this info or just the info itself. Thanks!

I need an appetite suppressant that works and doesn't have caffeine/green tea?
I have 40 pounds to loose I really need some help in not being hungry between meals, especially when I'm eating correctly proportioned meals which makes me hungry even more quickly and then give into temptation when I'm hungry. I can't have green tea/caffeine, which is in most everything I see available. What products are available that works that doesn't have caffeine? I'm considering asking my doctor, when I see him soon, if there is anything that he can prescribe me that the pharmacist can make sure there is no caffeine in it. Is there anything available on the prescription level? Drinking water doesn't work. I'm already drinking water all throughout the day. Believe me, this is a last resort, I've tried EVERYTHING possible... between healthy snacks, eating smaller meals more frequently.... it's just too much focus on food and it makes for a loose situation for me. I just need to eat regular, proper sized meals again and move on until the next meal, but with my getting hungry in between I need a crutch until I can get my body adjusted to the new healthy habits. Again, i'm already drinking water and thats ALL I drink. I've never been a drinker of anything else. I've tried the fiber thing, I eat good breakfasts, etc. Believe me, again.... I've tried everything. I need a crutch.... just please recommend something that actually works and without green tea/caffeine. I also exersize daily, touch workouts, too, my legs are shaking when i'm done, Borg scale of 9.5, etc. I only take stairs at work, no elevators, and I climb and average of 250 stairs a day. I park far away, always! Again, I've been through all this. I'm finally facing the facts that I need some help. I don't want to loose quickly. I want to loose permanently. I'm not looking for shortcuts, just a boost while my body adjusts to new habits.
